Whispering Wishes is Live folks!

Be careful what you wish for...

Normally, Aspen Edwards will do anything for her free-spirited best friend, Mischa, but this feels like a bit much. The plan is simple, all Aspen has to do is write down a few affirmations and recite them during the New Moon. But as skeptical as Aspen is, a promise is a promise. So, she whispers each wish to the universe, pondering the possibilities of "what if." Who wouldn't want a promotion at work, a new home, or to become an irresistible sex goddess?

But Aspen’s luck doesn't change with the wishes, or the wind. Each of her whispered prayers produces disaster. She gets fired. Her car breaks down. She gets kicked out of her house. And of course there is the crap icing on the cake of doom, falling for flirtatious and sexy, Wes, who sees her as nothing more than his “little sis”. It might not be so bad if his house weren't the only place she had to go.

Unbeknownst to her, the universe has a few tricks up its sleeve, and Aspen's bad luck streak might just be putting her right where she needs to be!

SNEAK PEEK

Oh hell, this is so not cool, this is going to be torture. All I want to do is touch him. I take my glass off the table so I have something to do with my hands. What I want to do is trace his mohawk or the planes of his face with my fingers. All this does is make me even more aware of him. I mean he’s lying right here on me for God sakes. I feel aches in my body that aren’t at all appropriate between friends.

Day 11 - Question Of The Day...

So, I'm not sure exactly when SNL did this skit, but it's hysterical! I've always liked Bruce, I think he's got an excellent sense of humor, so this just tickled me! Enjoy!

https://screen.yahoo.com/snl-best-of-season-39/boy-dance-party-090000433.html

Now, here's my question...Do you dance? I mean, are you a really awful twerker? Or can you shake it good enough to win this seasons So You Think You Can Dance???

My answer:

I'm my generations version of Miley Cyrus, twerkin' ON a wrecking ball! Yes, I am *that* bad I promise you.

BUT -- In *my* head, I could SO totally win So You Think You Can Dance!!!!!

(Don't get me wrong, I *love* SYTYCD, I do and I greatly respect all the time, effort and hard work of those who enter and win, but I could do it! Totally! Don't judge me peeples! Leave me to my dream!)

Seriously, two things I wanted to do growing up, Dance and/or drive an 18-wheeler. Yeah, yeah, I know, the silly dreams of kids, right? Well, believe it or not, I did accomplish one of those...I won't tell you which, but given my above statement, I think you can figure it out...ROFL!

So, my Bloganites, what say you...Shake it or do your friends say, "Please, don't *ever* do that again..."

Day 10 - Question Of The Day

Day 9 - Question Of The Day...

So, another serious research question today! What kind of guy do you like as a Hero in your Romances. Are you a fan of Firefighters, Military Hero's, what? Do you like tall, dark and handsome? Or gruff, scruf...f and tattooed?

My answer:

Personally I'm a chest girl. I love a well-defined chest and a nice butt in a tight pair of jeans! Add in cowboy boots and hat and oh yeah...*sighs, fans self*

Now, that's just for looks. For personality, I prefer to judge by the book, not the image. I love the strong, Alpha male - not the abusive sort mind you - but the kind that will move Heaven and Earth and sometimes Alien Worlds to save his lady!

So, share your fav type of guy! Feel free to post pics too! But, one caveat, keep them clean folks! This is a family page after all...

Tempting Sydney by Angela Corbett!!!! YAY! Go on now, go get it!

Due to mature content, this New Adult novel is recommended for readers over 18.

“Someone needs to make you come completely undone, Sydney Parker.” His tongue moved slowly over his lips. “That someone is going to be me.”

Goal-oriented Sydney Parker has never had a problem focusing. She’s about to start law school, the first step on her way to the Supreme Court. With no time for relationships, she lives vicariously through her best friend Brynn, who has recently decided to use sex as a research tool. Sydney, however, hasn’t been laid in years. Men are a distraction, one Sydney has diligently avoided…until Jackson West crashes into her life, and under her hood.

The last thing Sydney needs is a hot mechanic working on her ‘69 Camaro. Especially a hot mechanic with eyes like the ocean and lick-me abs, who claims to be better in bed than a werewolf.

Jax thinks that’s exactly what Sydney needs.

But Sydney has goals, and a relationship with the enigmatic Jax would challenge her.

Distract her.

Tempt her.

Sydney is about to find out that temptation is very hard to resist.

SNEAK PEEK

The light from the setting sun glared off the truck door as it opened. The person was in shadow, but his outline showed a large, tall, imposing frame. Wide shoulders, narrow waist, full head of hair. I thinned my eyes. Since Red was just a little above hobbit size and balding, I figured this must be one of his employees, and not one I recognized by silhouette. I lifted my hand to block the light and try to get a better view. It didn’t help. He kept walking toward me and was five feet away before I realized who it was.

Confident, gorgeous blue eyes held mine. It was the guy. And he was standing in front of me…about to work on my engine. I had a momentary hot flash and took a deep, steadying breath to try to calm down.

Day 9 - Question Of The Day...

Day 9 - Question Of The Day...

Ok, folks, serious research question here! Now, pay attention. Come on now, *snaps fingers* wake up over there!

I need your help, m'kay??

In my current #WIP, To Light A Dragon's Fire, I have two Hero's and Two Heroines. Draven (Dragon), Arin (Chimera) and Lanni and Terra are Human Twin sisters. A spell has been cast over Draven, Lanni and Terra connecting them together (Magically, not physically or anything). Anyway, Arin is just more than a little head over heels for Lanni but because of the spell, she can't return those feelings.

So, Arin wants to go off and get himself plastered and I need a drink! A Fantasy type drink...like Goblinale.

Now, here's what I need from you. Make me a drink that will get him Drunk. I mean, so rip-roarin' plastered he can't fly straight! (Btw, he has two forms, the Chimera and a humanoid version).

Tell me its ingredients and the side-effects! Make 'em good now! The best one will get an acknowledgment in the book! And maybe an ARC copy of it before it heads off publishing...

Love you guys! And thanks...:D

PS: I'm only asking because I've been sober for 20+ years and I have no clue what the current, I'm-gonna-fall-flat-on-my-face-from-the-first-sip concoctions are these days!

Day 8 - Question Of The Day...

Day 8 - Question Of The Day...

Ok, really late with this one tonight, but work intervened.

So, I'll make this fun and just silly, cause I'm kinda tired tonight. Hey, don't judge me, I'm human too ya know...*laughs*

Anyway, Tell me your favorite game. Board, Roleplay, Online Video, what one thing do you jump too when you're bored...

For me, currently, it's World of Warcraft. I'm a junkie, or I was for about six years. I was so bad for awhile there, that I have two accounts, 11 characters on each and if it exists in the game world, I probably have it on one of them...*laughs*

Don't judge me, for about six years there, I wasn't writing a lot. Or, if I was, it came and went in some serious spurts, so I needed a way to entertain myself. This was pre-first-book days and pre-FB-days...*shakes a fist at Zuckerberg for sucking me at long last...ROFL!*

Anyway, talk to me peeps. Tell me what you do for fun other than read...

Thanks as always for stopping by...

Until next time.

Day 7 - Question Of The Day

Day 7 - Question Of The Day.

Alright peeps, I'm a little late with this tonight, but here we go:

I've mentioned I have cats - 5 of them actually and all of them have very distinct personalities.

So, here's my question: What kind of pets do you have and what is their main personality trait??

My Answer:

Could be really long, so I'll try and keep it short.

Nikki - My oldest - is Queen of the Roost.
Yodda - Her Daughter - is Princess Of the Roost.
Dip - Serendipity or Dipshit depending on the day - is my stoner.
Leo - Or Leonardo De Caprio - Is my big ball of fluff movie star (I swear he'd sit in front of the mirror ALL day preening if I let him!)
And
Marley - Aptly named for the one and only Bob Marley - is my drunkard cause he walks about the house with this slow swagger and narrow eyed look of contentment..

So, there's my brood. Now, tell me about yours...Pictures are awesome and more than welcome!

Pics in order: Leo, Marley, Nikki, and Yodda (perched on my shoulder), Dip is the black blob behind her (He does not like his pic taken)

Day 6 - Question Of The Day...

Day 6 - Question Of The Day...

So, since it's Memorial Day, let's ask the best question of all...

Have you, or any member of your family, served in the Military? If so, what branch?

My Answer:

Ahyep. I was in the Army, circa 1987-1992. I *should* have made it a career, but live and learn.

And, my family can trace our Military Heritage all the way back to the Civil War. We've had some member in some branch in every major engagement, up to and including Iraq and Afghanistan. (Cousins in the most recent, but yeah.) In my direct line, my Father served in Vietnam - I was adopted by older parents - My grandfather was in Korea, My great-grandfather in WWII, Great-Great in WWI...well, you get the idea.

Personally, I was in the first Desert Storm, got out right after. I don't miss that heat though and applaud our Men and Women over there now! It was hell for the nine months I did it, I can only imagine what you go through for *years* at a rotation! *shudders and eyes the combat boots in her closet that *still* have crystalized sand in the bottom of them...*

Anyway, thank you! For your Service, past, present and future. May our Men and Women stay safe and come home again!

Thanks as always for stopping by.

Until next time,

PS: Here's a bit of tastiness in the form of an excerpt...Enjoy!

---------------------------------------

Under his fingers, the tuxedo jacket shifted and she spied the dark patch of blood just beginning to spread across the crisp whiteness of his shirt.

Lanni gasped and pushed his hands aside. “You’re injured!”

Arin looked down at the spot and snorted. “It is a scratch.”

She glared up at him. “That could just as easily have gotten infected with all your traipsing through the jungle the last two days.” Taking him by the hand, she dragged him over to the chair and pushed him into it. “Take off your jacket. Let me see it.”

“It is fine,” he argued, unmoving.

Not to be outdone, she yanked the lapels apart and pushed it back. The blood stain was spreading, quickly and it worried her. “Take that off, now,” she commanded.

Not waiting to see if he did, she spun and headed for the bathroom she’d used earlier, hoping to find some sort of first aid kit or other medical supplies. Coming up short, she grabbed the towel she’d used after her shower and returned.

He wasn’t in the library though and she tracked a trail of blood back across the living room to his room. The door was open and she entered without knocking to find him out cold on the floor, his jacket grasped in one hand and his shirt half undone.

“Well, shit…”

Day 5 - Question Of The Day...

Day 5 - Question Of The Day...

So, here's another fun one...

What was the last book you read that you didn't want to end, merely for the fact of the *world* it was in??

My answer:

Believe it or not, it's by the lovely, Author J.S. Scott. She's created a world with the Sentinel Demons that is just awesome and I never wanted them to end! There are three out right now with #4 on the way sometime later on this year. I them and would strongly recommend, at the very least, picking up the first in the series and give her a try! You won't be disappointed!!!

Day 4 - Question Of The Day...

Day 4...

I bet you thought I forgot about it, didn't cha'...well, I didn't.

So, without further delay, here is today's Question Of The Day. *Duh Duh Duh...*

Ok, let's get just a little serious this time...

Tell me a secret about yourself. It doesn't have to be the earth-shattering news of where you hid the body or anything, but just something that maybe you fear, or even a pet peeve.

And no, don't give me the usual, spiders, creepy crawlies and what not. Something good peeps! (If it worries you to share, just email it to me, margarettaylor1226@att.net and I'll post it anonymously in a comment for you...:D )

My answer:

I am absolutely terrified of drowning.

Now, that's not to say I fear the water. I don't. I'm an Aquarian, I'm half fish. I love the water.

Did you know that I swam professionally when I was younger? Well, I did. My mother used to say she dropped me, accidentally in a pool when I was like 6 months old and instead of flailing around, I ducked my head under the surface and off I went down the pool. Clumsily mind you, but I was still swimming!

I started on a team when I was 5 and didn't quit until I went in the Army at 18. I was no Michael Phelps or anything, but I was half decent (Four time State Champ actually), but the Army replaced my drive for that life.

At 45, I still find time - about once a week or so because of life and what not - to hit the lanes and do some laps.

Because of this background and my love for the water, I'm a very strong swimmer, even today. And that's *why* I fear drowning. I'm so strong in the water, that I should be able to get myself out of whatever situation and I fear the day I can't...

So, that's my secret folks. One of my deepest fears!

Now it's your turn!

Tell me Bloganites, what's your fear...

If I like it, I might just give it to one of my characters in an upcoming WIP and then torture them with it...MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Thanks as always for stopping by.

Until next time.

Day 3 - Question Of The Day...

Day 3...Question Of The Day: *Duh Duh Duh!*

So, today, is another fun one.

Today we ask the age-old question of: Do you talk to your animals? No matter what they are, cat, dog, horse, hamster, ferret, do you randomly talk to them and do they talk back?

My answer:

You bet! (Don't judge me, I know I'm the Crazy Cat Lady On The Corner...)
For those of you that don't know, I have five cats.

In age order they are: Nikki, Dip, Leo, Yodda and Marley.

Nikki and Leo are my two talkers.

Nikki when she wants attentions and Leo when he wants Food, Water, clean litter, whatevers.

Do I talk back?

Ahyep, I sure do. At least with Leo. Who is pictured below. I'll be in my home office, come out to get something to drink and he'll be sitting at the door waiting on me. He meows, I reach down and give him a scritch, which he enjoys. Once I stop, however, he'll continue to meow until I hold onto the end of his tail and he literally walks me over to whatever he wants...the food dish, the water bowl, or toward the bathroom cause he's just dropped a "big one" and it must be scooped out!

So, my lovely Bloganites, what say you? Do you have animals and do you have random convo's with said animals??

Day Two - Question Of The Day...

So, Day 2!

Today's Question of the Day Is: *Duh Duh Duh*

I'm gonna make todays, Fun! So, here we go!

You're at a restaurant and whatever you're eating - non-allergically - suddenly turns your skin a deep, yet very flattering, purple with pink polka dots.

What do you do?

Do you hold your head high and finish your meal with dignity?

Do you run for the nearest bathroom and hide until it wears off?

Do you ask your date for their menu and hide behind *it* until the effect wears off?

My answer: I'd laugh, and if the meal is decent, continue right on eating. If it's not, I might get up and leave but I'd still hold my head high because, let's face it, it would be one heck of a story to tell your grandkids, wouldn't it?

So, what say you Bloganites??

What do you do???

The Inagural Question Of The Day...

Ok, so I'm gonna try something new.

Beginning today and hopefully every day hereafter, I'm going to post what I call, the Question Of The Day.

Now, sometimes it'll be fun, sometimes funny, other times maybe relating to some current event, but I promise never to do two things:

I'll never ask about religion...

And I'll never delve into politics.

Both of those tend to be hot-button issues and this is meant to be a way for you to get to know me and for me to get to know my fans.

So, with that said, here we go.

The Inaugural Question Of The Day Is: *Duh Duh Duh*

Would you do something nice for a perfect stranger, just because they really looked like they could use it?

My answer: You bet.

Just the other day my roommate and I had gone to the store. As we were checking out, I noted a Captain in line in front of me. She really looked like she was having, or had had, a bad day. She was scowling, was very quiet and looked deep in thought. She was toying with her cap, biting at her lip and so on. All the things, that if you're an Author or a people watcher, denotes a level of some sort of anxiety.

As the gentlemen ahead her finished and the Cashier began ringing up the 10 or so items she had, I leaned over to her and in very low voice said, "Pardon me Captain, but would you be terribly offended if I offered to buy your groceries today?"

She looked at me like I'd grown two heads and said, "Are you serious?"

I said, "Yes Ma'am, I am. Soldiers get so little praise that it's the very least I can do to thank you for your service."

By this time, the cashier had finished with her order and before the Captain could even say no, I swiped my card and put her amount in with my stuff yet to be rung up. (Btw, the cashier also looked at me as if I'd grown two heads, but frankly I don't care.)

The Cashier bagged up the soldier's stuff and as she turned to leave, she graced me with a very wide smile and simply said, "Thank you."

I smiled back and said, "No, thank you. I would not happily live in this world without your diligence."

Now, I didn't do it then for any sort of recognition, nor do I tell *you* this story for you to say, "Oh well done."

I did it simply for the fact that she really looked like she could use the "pick me up".

So, what say you my Bloganites? Would you take just five minutes to do something like that?

Answer in a comment below and I might just do something nice again and pick one of you for a swag pack o' stuff! *Duh Duh Duh!*

Thanks as always for stopping by,

Until Tomorrow.

RT 2014

So, as many of you know, I was super bummed and equal parts depressed that I couldn't make it to NOLA this year.

Like, SUPER bummed. Almost to the point of tears I tell you, tears! And I *never* cry.

Ok, wait. I *almost* never cry...cause, you know, I'm really a big softy at heart and will still cry at a certain Budweiser commercial from the 2014 Superbowl filled with puppies and Clydesdales! Neither here nor there...

But, I had planned to go this year. Like seriously planned. I had the hotel booked, fees paid, car prepped - I was gonna drive because Nawlins is only 8 hrs. away...

Then real life decided to rear it's ugly head and I couldn't. So, I let everyone know, cancelled everything then sat here all week long, seeing the pics on FB and Instagram and Twitter and was extremely jealous! (Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled all my friends had an AWESOME time, but still, I had the little green monster on my shoulder all week. I'm a big girl, I can admit it! Don't judge me!)

Then...this morning, I see this article from the fantastic Hugh Howey. He's a pioneer to Indies like myself, along with other greats that broke into the Self-Publishing Arena and cut a swath so that someone like *me* could do the same.

http://www.hughhowey.com/being-forced-to-sit-in-the-backlist/

As I read it, my gut literally broiled with rage. Not at anyone in particular, but more FOR my friends and fellow Indie Authors!

How dare someone, ANYONE call Liliana Hart "Aspiring"!?!?! Are you kidding me? Seriously? Have these people not looked at the last few months of the NYT and USA Bestseller lists?

Apparently not, because that's exactly what seems to have happened at the big Book Fair. Authors who probably sell more than the top 10 of the Big 5 in a single day, were sat off in a tiny little room with signage that said "Aspiring Authors". While those same "Top 10" who you rarely see on the NYT or USA with any consistence any more, had a great, big, giant ballroom with tables and chairs and etc. all to themselves.

I guess what saddens me about this is, we're out here, Indies that is, working just as hard, if not harder, than authors with the Big 5 -- or is it Four now? I get confused -- pimping our work anywhere we can find, dragging our tired assess to event after event, on our OWN dimes most of the time, and we still to get called, "Aspiring"???

It's been years ladies and gentlemen, since the first of us said, "You know what? I can do this without you!" and did! Whomever it was, wrote the book, edited the book, formatted the book and published the book, by him or herself and frankly the Indie set has never looked back!

And we never will!

So, guess what Big 5/4, we're here to stay. Get over yourself! Suck it up, pull up your big girl panties and keep moving over. Cause, we're taking over, whether you like it or not!

Please, don't misunderstand me. I'm not directing my comments to the Authors who still write and publish with the Big 4/5. I'm not. I hold those who can tolerate the interference of the Corporate Formula at the highest level of respect. You definitely have more tolerance than I, and for that I applaud you. I do.

And there are still a few of you whose work I truly enjoy. (I'm looking at you Jill Slavis, Lori Foster, Catherine Coulter.) You ladies, and gents, have been on my "auto-buy" list for a long time and that's not going to change, I assure you!

I just hope, someday, you'll wake up and realize you can do so much better without...them! Maybe if you did "come to the dark side" as it were, they would wake up and say, "Um, guys? Maybe we should re-think this whole Indie group of people. We just lost one of our best and brightest over here...ya think there might be something to it??"

I know, I know, that's a pipe dream on my part, but hey, I'm one of those "Aspiring Authors" too, so let me have my dreams people! Cause, my dreams are what got me started in the crazy, wonderful, awe-inspiring world of Indie publishing in the first place!

Anyway, I'll hop off my soapbox now, I will. Sorry to rant your ears off, but it just burns me up when stuff like this still happens! *sighs*

So, until next time. (I promise my next blog will be much more fun!)

Thanks for stopping by.

Margaret Taylor

PS: If you did go to NOLA, and had a good time, please, feel free to share the fun and joy in a comment below. I have to live vicariously somehow, ya know???

Author J.S. Scott has a New Release today!!!!

Synopsis

After four years of working for “the billionaire boss from hell” Ally Caldwell thinks she finally has her life on the right track. Her fiancĂ© is out of dental school, ready to go to work at a thriving practice, and it would finally be her turn to go back and finish her college degree. Unfortunately, her carefully planned future crumbles when she finds out that her fiancĂ©, the man she’d nearly killed herself to help get through school, has been cheating on her. With her wedding looming in the near future, Ally’s blindsided, realizing she’d never even knew the man she’d been planning to marry. Suddenly, her carefully organized life is turned upside down, and not one single thing is turning out the way it was supposed to happen. Even her boss, Travis the Tyrant, is beginning to act differently, throwing Ally into an even more confused and chaotic state of mind. Travis, the one man who she’d always counted on to be a jerk, was now the guy who actually steps up to try and help her straighten her life out again. Unfortunately, she doesn’t much care for his highhanded arrogance or his methods of “helping.” Ally wants to hate Travis. It makes her life so much simpler to fight with him than to admit to the combustible chemistry growing between the two of them. But as she begins to see more and more of the real Travis beneath his dark façade, she can’t seem to resist the dangerous lure of their unlikely attraction.

Billionaire Travis Harrison does everything he possibly can to repair the Harrison name after a scandal nearly destroyed his family years ago. He makes sure he keeps himself and his actions in check, his emotions buried under a thick layer of ice. Only his secretary and assistant, Alison Caldwell, makes him come close to losing his carefully constructed image. The obstinate female keeps shoving him closer and closer to the edge of sanity every single day. But when he finds out about her fiancĂ©’s betrayal, his protective instincts roar to life inside him, making him want to ensure she’s never hurt again. The only problem is…Ally doesn’t want his help, and the infuriating woman does everything she can to push him away, even as the two of them are swept into an undeniable passion that neither of them can possibly ignore. Before long, Travis finds himself in ruthless pursuit of something much more important and elusive than just a business deal.
Can these two very different, very stubborn people actually be meant to be together? Find out if Travis and Ally can let down their defenses and surrender to a love so powerful it will rock them to the depths of their souls in Billionaire Undone, Book Five of The Billionaire’s Obsession series.

Excerpt

“So why were you so insistent that I was coming with you to Colorado?  You’re obviously comfortable with the crowd here.  You know the Colters well.  Why is this any different than any other charity function?”  She’d been wondering that for a while now.
“It’s an auction and a ball,” Travis answered grimly.
“So?  You attend auctions,” she shot back at him.
“It’s not a typical auction.  Tate thought it would be interesting to have a billionaire auction to raise more money.  Bastard!  And he has the connections to gather a very wealthy crowd.”
“So only billionaires will be there?” Ally asked, bewildered.
“No.  Billionaire’s are the auction items.  Women are bidding on the billionaire of their choice to be their escort for the ball.”  Travis visibly shuddered.  “I can’t believe Sutherland showed up.  Poor bastard.  I hope he knows what he’s getting himself into.  Tate’s own brothers conveniently had to be out of town.”
“So you’re going to be auctioned off?”
“Hell, no.  I’m exempt because I have a woman.  It’s just the single guys.”
“So you brought me along as your cover?” Ally asked, biting back a laugh, knowing that was probably initially the reason he’d needed her here.
He hesitated for a moment and then answered, “Yeah. I’m not going up on some auction block like a damn antique or a show horse for sale.”
Ally snickered, “Well, you are priceless and a stud.  That’s hilarious.  And I think it’s very unique.  I think it will be fun.  And the men that are participating are good sports.  Is Tate going to do it?”
“Yeah.  Some unsuspecting woman will have to put up with his ornery ass all night,” Travis grumbled.  “He got a surprising number of men who volunteered.  We should raise a lot of money.”
“So I’m going to be in the same place as many of the world’s most eligible bachelors?” Ally asked teasingly.
“No.  You’ll be there with me,” Travis told her gravely.

Without his former career to fill every minute of the day, Kade's looking for something to challenge him--now that he's lost the career that had meant everything to him. But what starts out as a simple favor soon becomes a whole lot more than he bargained for when the woman he's seeking slips away from him every time he gets close to finding her. When Kade does finally corner her, things start to get even more complicated. Asha Paritala is nothing like he expected, and the female he had tracked down as a favor for Max soon becomes a woman he wants for his very own, a woman who makes protective and highly predatory instincts he didn't know he had flare to life inside him. Kade soon discovers that he wants Asha's total surrender to the desire and passion that vibrates intensely between the two of them, but he also wants her trust, the one thing Asha's history makes it difficult for her to give. Can Kade convince her that some things are worth risking it all?

Caught between two worlds, Asha Paritala is homeless, broke and damaged from a life of abuse and neglect. Born of an American mother and an Indian immigrant father, Asha was raised as an Indian woman by a foster family after the death of her natural parents when she was little more than a baby. She's spent her entire life under the control of others until finally breaking free two years earlier, and she's determined to keep her freedom, even if it means she has to struggle to survive. But when she meets Kade Harrison, her resolve is tested. After Kade helps her through a bad situation, she finds herself beginning to trust Kade as she's never trusted a man before. Kade is everything she always thought a man should be, but can she lose herself in him completely when she knows she's damaged and confused. And is it really possible that she could be a lost sibling to two people like Max Hamilton and Maddie Hudson? Asha is tempted by the possibility of family, and the irresistible lure of a man like Kade Harrison. Can a woman caught between two cultures, so flawed and so backward, really reach out and take what she wants, or will the instinct to run from the pain of her past destroy the hope of happiness for her future?
