What's New, Pussycat...

So, it's rare that Authors find time to read other Authors, even if we just love them to death!

Quite often, I find myself picking up something, starting it and it spurs an idea for my own works, so I drop it and head back to a WIP.

But, there are a few Authors that I absolutely adore and today...much to my own chagrin...one such, drug me into a world I'd totally forgotten about.

Let me explain...

Way back in the day -- circa 2003 ish and pre the grand and great Zon -- the only way we readers had to know about books was via the email groups on Yahoo. We belonged to lists, or groups, some independent and some coming direct from various publishers hanging about in the ether we called the Interwebs of the time.

One such, was Ellora's Cave, and one of my very favorite Authors in that house was Dakota Cassidy. I lost count of how many works she published there, but devoured them all as they came out one by one. Eventually though, I quit that world. Other things -- such as making a career for myself aside from publishing -- and other interests garnered my attention and I admit I lost touch with EC and Ms. Cassidy.

But, I'd loved her work. She has a way of making things fun and funny and hot and smexy and her Alpha's are extremely swoon worthy! She doesn't overload you with sex - as some Erotic's do - but actually has real plots, with real stories and totally real characters you can not only relate to, but fall in love with - both male and female!

And time has only improved her work too!

The other day, I'd picked up "What's New, Pussycat?" and today, during a lull in time, I pulled it up on my Kindle...and didn't stop until it was finished! *shakes a fist at Ms. Dakota for her distracting me!!!!*
It's a great story of love, and life mates, and a man who initially bulks and kicks and doesn't go quietly into a relationship he doesn't want but has to have or he dies. And an equally strong woman who thanks to her bastard of a father, doesn't want the entanglement of a real relationship but can't help falling for the man in question.

Between them, they'd just as soon walk away from this after the deed is done, but eventually come to realize the other fills a hole neither knew they had...

It's Book 2 of her Wolf Mates Series and it can be read as a stand-alone, but it's even better if you read Book 1 - An American Werewolf in Hoboken!

I give both books a resounding 5 Stars and I can't wait to dig into Gotta Have Faith - which is Book 3 of the series the next time I find a lull in my day!

I don't recommend to many Authors, but I highly recommend Ms. Dakota. Especially if you want a good, deep belly laugh with some hot lovin' on a cold winters day!!!!

As always, thanks for stopping by.

Until next time.
